ELIZABETH MCLAUGHLIN'S BIO

THE EARLY YEARS
Elizabeth Mclaughlin was born in Morgantown West Virginia. When I was three years old, my family (Mom, Dad, and my brothers) moved to the very small town of Zephyrhills, Florida. My childhood was fairly ordinary except the fact that I was constantly performing, and hanging out with kids way older than I was.
I always knew she wanted a career in entertainment, and I knew I would get there, I just didn't know HOW. My mom always calls me her 'Little Force of Nature’ because ever since I was a little girl, there was no stopping me from my dreams. And she's right. Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to be a singer. I still plan to pursue that, but acting took over first.

My acting coach Dennis LaValle has inspired and influenced me in every which way. He is one of the most intelligent, captivating, compassionate, and overall helpful people I’ve ever been fortunate enough to meet. I feel blessed to be his student. He’s not only an acting coach, but also a best friend. Kind of like a way cool uncle. Every time, he teaches me something new and interesting. There’s never a dull moment with Dennis. He’s truly the greatest acting coach an actor could have.

THE CLIQUE
I scored the part of Massie by embracing her as a person. I’ve been a huge fan of the books since I was in 7th grade, and had read all of them. I KNEW Massie. I knew who she was, what she's about, what she was thinking, and WHY she does the sometimes horrible things she does. She is your average teenage girl, only a little more intensified. Although some say she is the meanest character in Teen Literature, she really just wants to be liked, and she'll do whatever it takes to get on top. Massie is a little self-conscious, and since her biggest success in life is being the most popular girl at OCD [Octavian Country Day, Massie's school], she will not lose it, no matter what. She may be mean, but under it all she's just afraid to lose what she has.I made Massie into a human 12-year-old girl from the fictionalized character that Lisi Harrison perfected. I think Massie is such an intense and overly dramatic Mean Girl.  To prepare for this role I went to the mall in character as Massie Block. I acted just how she would act, and you wouldn’t believe the condescending looks I got! Hahaha. On top of it all, the best preparation I did was re-reading all of “The Clique” series to know Massie better.
